Corps receives funds for new ambulance
The Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps raising funds to purchase a 2008 E450 ambulance by PNL with an estimated cost of $151,000. The corps has already raised $30,000.
This vehicle will replace the current 1999 ambulance, purchased by the corps in 2000. Corps member Kevin Zitko reported that this was an average life span for an ambulance.
Zitko stressed the importance of getting a new ambulance in light of the possible closing of

Hospital : if the ambulance starts to cover more mileage to get to hospitals farther away, it will age even more quickly.
The council agreed to release $30,000 in November to help pay for the new ambulance. The old ambulance will be put on eBay with a starting bid of $12,000.
The corps hopes to have the new ambulance by June 2008.
