Blood drive to be held on Dec. 3
TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON – A community blood drive will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the TD Bank on 590 Pascack Road, Township of Washington. To schedule an appointment, call Diane Vasile at 201-782-5192 or 201-251-3703.
All blood types are needed, especially Types 0- and 0+. Any healthy individual, age 17 through 75, and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Donors should eat a moderate meal before donating and must bring identification showing signature. All donors receive a complimentary cholesterol screening with every blood donation.

Author of eight books to teach publishing course
Michael Lewis, author of eight books, will teach a one-night workshop in an effort to help area residents with the goal of becoming professional writers at Emerson Community School on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Participants will learn the business behind the books and learn how to put together a winning proposal for a publisher. Following up on a proposal and handling possible rejection will also be covered. Finally, how to seal the deal and use the copyright to the writer’s advantage will be discussed.
