Council opposes hospital closure
The town council has passed a resolution objecting the closing of Pascack Valley Hospital (PVH).
Located in Westwood, PVH announced its bankruptcy and impending closure on Thursday, Sept. 13. Citing the importance of the health and welfare of residents of the
Pascack
Valley , the council recorded its conviction that PVH should remain open, or at least continue to provide emergency services.
“It’s a major part of our community,” said Council President Robert Schroeder. “We’re concerned that none of our state officials have stepped up to the plate.”
As of now, the hospital will fully close its doors in December.
