A crowd gathered on Nov. 6 for a ribbon cutting at
Rosengart
Memorial Park in Emerson. Mayor Louis Lamatina was joined by Borough Administrator Joe Scarpa, Councilman Ken Hoffman, Chief of Police Michael Saudino and others to declare the park officially open.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, borough officials came out to unveil the new
Rosengart
Memorial Park on Sunset Place. The park was recently refurbished to improve the safety of the equipment, and to make it a more enjoyable environment for neighborhood children of all ages.
Members of the community originally chipped in to build the park and memorial garden in honor of the late Leo Rosengarten. The playground equipment was constructed of wood, which deteriorated over the years. Last year the borough received a $45,000 grant to refurbish the park. It now boasts a large jungle gym structure with numerous slides for kids over 6, and a smaller unit for younger children, in addition to the park’s original swing sets.
