Council approves $1,125,000 in bonds for capital projects

A new police car, improvements to the municipal complex and the downtown business district, and further repairs at the Mill Pond dam were among the expenditures approved when the council passed Ordinance 2008-08 at the Tuesday, March 11 meeting. The cost of the projects is $850,000.
In addition, Ordinance 2008-06 was approved to provide $275,000 in funding for the borough’s 2008 road resurfacing program.
The borough will issue bonds to finance these capital projects.
Last month, the borough approved bonding for $1,220,000 to purchase the
Park Avenue property and building currently occupied by the post office.
