Park Ridge is among the eight towns who have are joined together to bid on road resurfacing projects totaling about $2 million.
On March 11, the Park Ridge Council approved Ordinance 2008-06 authorizing the sale of bonds in the amount of $275,000 to finance its 2008 road improvement.
Gene Vinci, the borough administrator, explained that each partner in consortium stands to save money and time by advertising for and awarding one contract for the work.
Westwood is acting as the “lead agency” in the process and is responsible for advertising for bids and awarding the contract on behalf of the other members of the group: Westwood and Park Ridge are joined by Emerson, Hillsdale, Old Tappan, Oradell, River Vale, and
Woodcliff
Lake .
Vinci said each partner will be responsible for inspecting the work done in their municipality.
If the scope of work and scheduling permit, member municipalities would like to have the work completed before schools open in September.
