Contract awarded for Memorial Drive improvements, bike path

On Tuesday, May 13, the Montvale Mayor and Council awarded a professional service contract to borough engineer Maser Consulting to prepare designs for roadways improvements to Memorial Drive and a paved path that will provide a safe bike route along Memorial from Bayberry Drive to West Grand Avenue.
The total estimated cost of the project is $575,000, including the bike path, which will be six to 10 feet wide, as well as roadway improvements, additional milling and paving behind the DPW building and senior center, and the repair of driveway aprons at the firehouse.
Offsetting the costs is a $195,000 N.J. Department of Transportation grant.
