Skateboard park to open this summer

On Monday, June 9, the River Vale Council unanimously authorized Mayor Joseph Blundo to enter into an interlocal agreement with Old Tappan, effectively providing the township’s youth with a park designed specifically for skateboarding.
The total cost of the skateboard park is approximately $48,000. Thanks to a grant secured by Old Tappan, where the park will be located, each municipality will contribute approximately $12,500.
Mayor Joseph Blundo, who encountered a parking lot full of skateboarders prior to the meeting, said that the park should be ready for use before the end of the summer.
