Development will have gatehouse

(by Maggie Fazeli Fard - June 24, 2008)
On Tuesday, May 20, the Montvale Planning Board approved an amended site plan permitting Woodmont, a Parsippany-based developer, to erect a permanent gatehouse as well as two signs at the entryway of Enclave at Montvale, a 28-home development that is currently under construction.

Woodmont’s Enclave at Montvale received land use approval in 2005 for the construction of eight single-family homes and 20 townhouses on a 19-acre piece of property at 255 Summit Ave., near West Grand Avenue. Construction of the development began in late 2007, and this spring Woodmont approached the borough with regards to amending the plan to include a gatehouse and additional signs.

The gatehouse will be erected at the entryway of the development. It will be permanent and unmanned, and will not include a physical gate to stop incoming traffic.

The two monument signs will be installed within a stone wall, one on each side of the entryway. The signs will have an area of 22 feet each and will bear the development’s name, “The Enclave at Montvale.”
