New DPW building almost complete
(by Erin Patricia Griffiths - July 16, 2008)
Despite some minor work that still needs to be done, the new DPW building on River Vale Road is nearly complete.
According to Councilwoman Denise Sieg, the DPW facility will be a benefit to the taxpayers because it will allow for the department employees to further improve the management of their work. “I think that we are very fortunate to have the DPW department that we do have, and this will just make their jobs easier because they’ll have the equipment inside,” said Sieg, “It’s just a win-win for the township.”
Due to some concerns over the aesthetics of the building, the department added flowers and plants to create a more appealing look to the facility. “Now it is softer, prettier, and I think more eye-pleasing for people who are driving down Rivervale Road,” complemented Sieg.
The DPW employees have moved their offices into the new facility and completion of the project in its entirety is expected in the near future.
